After a year in the recording studio, Adam Smith returns to the stage with this very special performance; a preview of his new, up and coming CD titled So Simple Now, songs from his current album Around the Bend and a few favorite cover songs. Adam’s musical style is reminiscent of Joni Mitchell and James Taylor from 30-years ago but with his own unique vibe.

Adam is a self-taught guitar and piano performer. He is a prolific writer with a pitch-perfect singing voice. This combination makes for a very entertaining and enjoyable evening performance. Originally from southeastern Kentucky and discovered in Nashville, Adam now resides is Phoenix AZ. He has been featured on stages across Arizona since 2011.

So Simple Now will be Adam’s third full-length release and will include 14 original songs with titles like Water and Wine, Made to Be Broken, Spare Heart and Fool’s Gold. Recorded in Adam’s unique style, these songs have a hint the folk music of his Appalachian upbringing combined with celtic and country influences. In true singer-songwriter fashion, Adam’s songs all tell a story – one that is familiar and relatable to audiences of all ages.

The August 13th performance will be a two hour show with intermission, beginning at 7pm at the Black Theatre Troupe Building on East Washington Street in downtown Phoenix. This performance is a part of the Actors Theatre Summer Season. Tickets are $20 and are available online at actorstheatrephx.com or at the door the night of the performance.
